Promising batter Tilak Varma has had a dream start to his international career, emerging as India's go-to man with the bat on the ongoing Caribbean tour. The stylish southpaw has showcased remarkable consistency with the bat, slamming 139 runs, including a belligerent fifty, in three T20Is against the West Indies. Considering his exploits in the shortest format, several former cricketers have batted for his inclusion in India's squad for the 2023 World Cup scheduled in October-November.
Meanwhile, Indian captain Rohit Sharma has lauded Varma for his maturity as a batter at such a tender age.
As quoted by The Hindustan Times, Sharma, who will lead India in the World Cup, hailed Varma for his talent without revealing much about his World Cup inclusion.

"He looks very promising. I have seen him for two years now, he has got the hunger, and that is the most important thing. In him I can see, for the age that he is of, he is quite matured. He knows his batting so well. When I speak with him, I understand that the boy knows his batting – where he has to hit, what he has to do in that period," Sharma said.
"That's all I will say about him, I don't know about the World Cup and all, but definitely the guy is talented and he has shown it in these few games that he has played for India," he concluded.
Meanwhile, India, trailing by 1-2, will be desperate to restore parity in the five-match series when they take on West Indies in the fourth T20I tonight in Florida, United States.
