The most anticipated clash of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 will take place on Friday as two rivals will collide at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. The Chennai Super Kings will go toe-to-toe against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). Both the sides won their opening game and will look to continue that momentum.
Both CSK and RCB have one injury concern heading into the match. For the Bengaluru team, Bhuvneshwar Kumar is likely to be back after missing out on the last match Vs KKR. However, CSK also have a problem of their own with star pacer Matheesha Pathirana injured.

Eyebrows were raised when there was no Pathirana in the playing XI Vs Mumbai Indians on last Sunday. It was believed that CSK made a tactical call by not including him, but later it was confirmed that he was made to sit out due to an injury.
Ahead of the match Vs RCB, CSK head coach, Stephen Fleming stated that Pathirana is progressing well but will miss the match Vs RCB. He also added that CSK are likely to go in with the same XI which defeated Mumbai Indians. However, at toss time, Ruturaj Gaikwad stated that Pathirana is back in the playing XI.
RCB trying to end their Chepauk jinx
It was during the inaugural edition of the IPL where RCB defeated CSK at the Chepauk for the last time. Since then, the Super Kings have dominated the RCB side at their own den.
However, this season provides yet another opportunity for the Red Army to end their jinx as they are in red hot form and with no Pathirana in the side, RCB will be confident of taking down their bowlers.
