In the much-awaited upcoming three-match ODI series against New Zealand, Pakistan did an indoor net session in Napier for an optional training on Friday, as rain disrupted outdoor practice. Despite the weather setback, captain Mohammad Rizwan led the charge, focusing on sharpening the skills of his squad for the opening match, scheduled for Saturday.

The Pakistan team underwent throwdown drills, while Rizwan also dedicated time to wicketkeeping practice. Babar Azam, Pakistan's star batter, was also seen warming up, ensuring he stays in top form for the series.
One of the standout performers during the session was young left-arm spinner Sufiyan Muqeem, who has been given another opportunity in the ODI squad after impressing in the T20I series. His inclusion raises the possibility that he could play a crucial role in the upcoming ODIs. Watch the video here:
The series marks Pakistan’s first ODI assignment since the Champions Trophy. However, head coach Aaqib Javed has expressed confidence in the team's experienced ODI contingent, backing them to turn in solid performances.
Meanwhile, New Zealand faces their own challenges, with captain Tom Latham ruled out of the series due to a hand injury. Michael Bracewell will step in as captain for the Kiwis, making the series even more crucial for them.
