Alzarri Joseph dismissed Kane Williamson in the 1st ODI
The 2nd ODI of the three-match series between hosts West Indies and the Kane Williamson-led New Zealand will take place at the Kensington Oval in Barbados on Friday, August 19.
After suffering 5 consecutive international defeats to India and the BlackCaps, the Nicholas Pooran-led Windies have come back nicely with back-to-back comprehensive victories.
The hosts picked off from where they had left in the 3rd T20I as they thumped New Zealand by a comfortable margin of 5 wickets in the ODI series opener to pick 10 valuable Super League points.
On a slow Bridgetown wicket, the ploy of packing the side with three spinners worked for the West Indies as Akeal Hosein, Kevin Sinclair and leg-spinner Yanic Cariah, strangled the Kiwi batting-unit.
Alzarri Joseph, on the other hand, did what he has been consistently doing in the last 12-15 months, claiming 3 wickets, including the prized scalp of Williamson.
The rest was done by Shamarh Brooks', who anchored the innings (79 off 91) beautifully to take his side home.
A trial by spin could once again be in store for New Zealand on Thursday, and the Windies will hope they succumb to it again as the hosts aim for an elusive series win.
