WI vs IND | 3rd ODI | Preview, Prediction, Key Players, CREX 11

The 3rd ODI of the three-match series between hosts West Indies and Team India will take place at the Queens’ Park Oval in Trinidad on Wednesday, July 27.

This series couldn't have come at a better time for 50-over cricket given the intensified attacks on its existence in the last few days.

Both the matches have proved to be high-scoring nerve-janglers, with India holding their nerves in the final over to clinch victories by 3 runs and 2 wickets respectively.

On Sunday, Axar Patel played the innings of his life- a violent 35-ball 64*- to see India through in a 312-run chase, but Nicholas Pooran and his side shouldn't be disheartened. The Windies have played some good cricket in the past two games but have failed to latch on to the crucial moments.

The final ODI will be a chance for the Pooran-led unit to right the wrongs of the last two matches and come away with a pride-salvaging win.

Match Details:

Match: West Indies vs India, 3rd ODI

Venue: Queen's Park Oval, Port of Spain

Date & Time: July 27 at 07:00 PM IST

Pitch Report: The pitch at Queen's Park Oval has played beautifully so far. It hasn't been a flat highway nor has it supported the bowlers substantially. We can expect much of the same in the final ODI.

Key Players:

  • Kyle Mayers: He may have failed to nail the final over in the 2nd ODI, but it is fair to say that the all-rounder has been in top-notch form in this series. In two matches so far, Mayers has smashed 114 runs at a strike rate of 125.27 besides claiming two wickets.

  • Shreyas Iyer: The Indian No.3 has scored a couple of half-centuries in the series so far. He will be looking to convert his start into a big score in the last game.

  • Shai Hope: The ever-so-consistent Hope smashed his 13th hundred in his 100th ODI in the last game. He will once again be the one to watch out for.

  • Axar Patel: The spin-bowling all-rounder came up with a performance for the ages in the 2nd match as he claimed 1/40 (in 9 overs) besides hammering an unbeaten 35-ball 64 to get his team over the line.
