WI vs IND | 3rd ODI | India one win away from creating history on Caribbean soil

On Wednesday, India and West Indies will clash in the final ODI of the ongoing three-match series in Trinidad.

India, who have already taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series, will clean sweep the hosts if they win this match.

Since touring the West Indies in 1983, India have crossed swords against the hosts in multiple bilateral ODI series, failing to whitewash them in all of them.

If they pull off a win, this will mark the Men in Blue’s first-ever ODI whitewash against the Caribbean men in their own backyard

Overall, this will be India’s thirteenth clean sweep in a bilateral ODI series. Further, West Indies will only be the third team after Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe to be whitewashed by the Men in Blue in the 50-overs format at home.

Despite suffering from poor form in ODIs, West Indies gave the visitors a run for their money in the first two games of the series.

Although there have been some remarkable individual performances from the hosts’ side, they have failed to seize the crunch moments.

With their respect on the line, West Indies will definitely look to end their disastrous ODI run in the dead rubber tomorrow.
