WI vs BAN 2022 | Taijul Islam, Litton Das all class as clinical Bangladesh take series 3-0

Bangladesh captain Tamim Iqbal and number three batter Litton Das guided their side in a tense run-chase against hosts West Indies in the third ODI

The latter of the two brought up his sixth ODI half-century, thus headlining Bangladesh's response as the top-scorer of the innings.

The visitors' win in the final match earned them the series 3-0. It also marked their eleventh successive win against West Indies in the format.

Visiting skipper Tamim Iqbal won the toss and decided to field first for the third time this series. Just like in the preceding two matches, his bowlers backed his decision and restricted the hosts to a modest total.

The West Indies unit got folded up for just 178 runs in 48.4 overs, with captain Nicholas Pooran alone contributing 73 of them. Bangladesh spinner Taijul Islam grabbed five wickets in the innings, conceding just 28 runs in his 10-over spell.

In response, West Indies gave Bangladesh a run for their money by picking six wickets within the 40th over. However, Nurul Hasan and Mehidy Hasan Miraz held their nerves and stitched an unbeaten stand of 33 runs, ensuring a whitewash in favour of the Tigers.
