The ODI series between Australia and West Indies will resume on Sunday in Barbados where the two sides will play the second match which was earlier called off after a non-playing member of the West Indies squad had tested positive for Covid-19.
Later, all the members of both the contingent had undergone the test and returned negative. “Cricket West Indies is pleased to announce that all 152 persons tested for COVID-19 on Thursday evening returned negative results,” it said in a statement on Friday.
The visitors lead the series 1-0 at the moment after they thumped the hosts by 133 runs (DLS method) while chasing 257 in a rain-curtailed match. Pacers Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood shared a total of eight wickets after Starc returned with a fifer while Hazlewood scalped three wickets.
The West Indies batting unit would be seeking to turn fortunes for themselves in this match after they had a failure in the opening clash.
