The third edition of the Women’s Premier League has come to its business end with Mumbai Indians Women defeating Delhi Capitals Women by eight runs to clinch the WPL 2025 title on Saturday, March 15 at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. After the season that witnessed some thrilling individual performances, it was Mumbai Indians' Nat Sciver-Brunt who ended the season with the most runs to claim the Orange Cap. 

Nat Sciver-Brunt Wins Orange Cap In WPL 2025

The England all-rounder scored 523 runs in 10 innings, at the impressive strike-rate of 152.27 and an average of 65.37. Her highest score this edition came against Delhi Capitals in MI’s first match where she notched up an unbeaten 80. 

It is important to mention that the star player also made a significant contribution for Mumbai Indians in the WPL final as well. She scored 30 runs off 28 balls with the bat and became the first batter to score 500+ WPL runs in a season and 1000 runs overall.

Her all-rounder capabilities and experience were at full display in the final as she also made a valuable impact with the ball. She took three wickets at an economy of 7.50 in her allotted four overs. With back-to-back impactful performances, she proved to be the backbone of Mumbai Indians’ success, guiding them to another historic title.

What Is Orange Cap In WPL? 

The Orange Cap is awarded to the highest run-scorer in a WPL season, recognising consistency and dominance with the bat. Previous winners include Australian great Meg Lanning, who topped the charts in 2023 with 345 runs, and Ellyse Perry, won this award last year with 347 runs.
