The record of the fastest T20I century, held by the Indian captain Rohit Sharma, has now been broken by a Nepalese cricketer at the Asian Games 2023. Well, this is one of the other records that have been halted today by the Nepal team.

The 19-year-old Kushal Malla was on a roll in Nepal's first game at the Asian Games 2023. Kushal came to bat at number three and smashed a blistering ton in just 34 balls, taking him past David Miller and Rohit Sharma, who had the fastest T20I hundreds off just 35 deliveries.

Kushal smashed 137 off just 50 deliveries and was not out against the Mongolia team. This knock brought him to popularity, and cricket fans are curious to know more about the young sensation.

Here are a few facts about the fastest T20I centurion, Kushal Malla:

Kushal is rated among the best batters in Nepal, and now he has shown what fierceness he brings on with his batting. He is just 19 and has already played over 40 international games. In 29 ODIs and 16 T20Is, he has scored 634 and 320 runs respectively. With an average of above 35 in T20Is, Kushal has been consistent in the shortest format.

He scored a fifty on his ODI debut against the USA in the ICC Men's World Cup League and avoided the early exit for his team. He was just 15, becoming the youngest batter to score a fifty in the One-Day Internationals. He has one century in each white-ball format and is the eighth youngest to score a century in ODIs. And now, his record-breaking ton is helping him become popular among cricket enthusiasts.
