Moreover, Jadeja also topped the overall highest wicket-takers tally, leading his spin mate Kuldeep Yadav and Australian speed demon Mitchell Starc by three scalps.

Ravindra Jadeja ends 2023 as highest wicket-taker

With no more international cricket on offer, legendary Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja is set to conclude 2023 as the highest all-format wicket-taker of the year. The seasoned spinner harvested 66 wickets from 39 innings, and snapped 33 of those from just seven Test matches.

The cricketer claimed two of those in his limited T20I appearances, and the remaining 31 in ODIs, which includes his 16-wicket haul from the 2023 World Cup. Remarkably, his splendid run at the World Cup in India made him the second highest wicket-taking spinner of the tournament after Adam Zampa.

Ravindra Jadeja snared 66 all-format wickets from 39 innings, while maintaining an impressive average of just 23.74. He also listed three five-wicket hauls, two of them in Tests and the other in ODIs at the 2023 World Cup against South Africa. As the year nears its conclusion, here is a look at top five highest all-format wicket-takers of 2023:

Ravindra Jadeja also pounded 613 runs with the bat from 28 innings at an average of 30.65. The all-round maverick belted two half-centuries in the process, thus capping a remarkable year for himself in both trades of the game.

The cricketer is currently in South Africa for India’s tough two-match Test series. While he missed out on his team’s ‘Boxing Day’ match against the hosts, he might make a return to the setup for the much-awaited series-decider at Cape Town on January 3.
