Champions Trophy 2025 draws close with Australia, South Africa, India, and New Zealand in the semis. However, with the final group-stage match of the Champions Trophy against New Zealand on March 2, team India’s stalwarts, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, and Shubman Gill, are leaving no stone unturned in their preparations.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) amplified the excitement on Saturday, releasing a gripping 1:30-minute video on bcci.tv that blends nostalgia and grit, showcasing the squad’s journey and relentless net sessions ahead of the marquee clash.

India Trains Hard Ahead Of New Zealand Clash

The video opens with KL Rahul, doubling as a storyteller, hosting a candid vlog that reflects on India’s campaign so far. Against a backdrop of locker-room camaraderie and on-field highlights, Rahul sums up the team’s emotional and strategic rollercoaster.

“Our batters rose to the occassion and out bowlers left the opposition spellbound,” he says, flashing a smile. Rahul’s narration strikes a balance between pride and focus, emphasizing that 'the job isn’t done yet.'

The second half of the video shifts gears, offering a sneak peek into India’s high-octane net practices. Virat Kohli is seen fine-tuning his cover drives, his focus unwavering as he faces a barrage of pace and spin.

Young gun Shubman Gill works on footwork against left-arm spinners, likely prepping for Mitchell Santner's threat, while KL Rahul practices his cuts and drives as was seen in the video.

India Eyes Top Spot

Notably, though India has already secured a playoff berth, the match holds significance. A win would cement their top spot in the group, sending a psychological message to potential knockout-stage rivals. The Kiwis, however, are no strangers to upsetting India in critical matches, adding an edge to the contest.
