Team India returned home to a hero's welcome following their emphatic victory in the Asia Cup 2023. In a one-sided final at Colombo, India decimated Sri Lanka by 10 wickets, securing their eighth Asia Cup title.

The match, played on Sunday, witnessed a spectacular performance by India, with both their bowlers and batsmen delivering standout performances. Speedster Mohammed Siraj, who has been in sensational form, led the charge with a fiery spell that left Sri Lanka reeling. Sri Lanka's innings was wrapped up for 50 runs in just 15.2 overs. This marked not only their all-time second-lowest total but also their lowest against India.

Siraj's devastating spell earned him the 'Player of the Match' award, underlining his status as one of the most potent fast bowlers in world cricket. His ability to extract movement and bounce from the pitch made life extremely difficult for the Sri Lankan batsmen.

After the rapid dismantling of Sri Lanka's innings, it was India's opening duo of Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan who showcased their class and composure. The pair stitched together a flawless fifty-run partnership, chasing down the paltry target with ease.

The victory in the Asia Cup 2023 final marked a significant achievement for India, as they secured their eighth title in this prestigious tournament. The team's captain, Rohit Sharma, and vice-captain, Virat Kohli, along with standout performers like Hardik Pandya, KL Rahul, Jasprit Bumrah, and others, were greeted with cheers and applause as they arrived in Mumbai today.

In addition to Mohammed Siraj's heroics with the ball, another key contributor to India's success throughout the tournament was Kuldeep Yadav. The spin wizard, who consistently bamboozled opposition batsmen with his prodigious turn and variations, claimed nine wickets in the tournament. His exceptional bowling performance earned him the 'Player of the Series' award.
