Surrey opener Will Jacks went berserk against Middlesex in their Vitality T20 Blast 2023 game at The Oval. The 24-year-old batter blasted a 45-ball 96, and formed a mammoth 177-run opening partnership with Laurie Evans.

Jacks launched seven sixes in his innings, with five of them coming in succession off a single Luke Hollman over. The cricketer missed out on a knee-high full-toss off the final delivery to finish the over with 31 runs.

Jacks stuns with five sixes in an over

Will Jacks raced to his 27th T20 half-century in the ninth over of the Surrey innings. A couple of overs later, he took apart Middlesex spinner Luke Hollman with five consecutive sixes. The cricketer, who was batting at 56* off 31 balls prior to the launch of the over, moved to 87 in a space of six deliveries.

Notably, Jacks missed out on a rare opportunity to join the six-sixes-in-an-over club, despite receiving an ideal full-toss at the end of the over.

His thunderous knock was laced with eight boundaries and seven sixes, as Surrey mounted 252-7 upon batting first.

Despite Jacks’ six-hitting frenzy, Surrey lost the contest in the final over of the match.

The Middlesex, having already crashed out of the tournament with 10 successive defeats, pulled off the second highest successful run-chase in T20 history by overhauling their monumental task with four balls still intact in the game.
