The first batch of players, including Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya, and head coach Gautam Gambhir, departed from Mumbai on February 15 amid an enthusiastic send-off from fans.

However, it was Rohit Sharma’s lighthearted antics at the airport security check that stole the spotlight. A viral video captured the Indian skipper’s hilarious exchange with a security staff member. As he presented his passport, the officer cautiously examined him, prompting Rohit to remove his sunglasses with a cheeky smile, leaving onlookers in splits. Watch the video here:

India enters the tournament with a strong sense of confidence, following a commendable 3-0 ODI series victory against England. However, it is important for 'Men in Blue' to work on the challenges ahead, particularly the absence of star pacer Jasprit Bumrah. Additionally, there are concerns regarding the recent form of important players Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, which the team will need to address before the start of the tournament.

The Men in Blue will play all their matches at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, as the Indian government did not grant permission for the team to travel to Pakistan. India has been drawn into Group A alongside Pakistan, New Zealand, and Bangladesh.
