[Watch] Rohit Sharma In Cheerful Mood As He Interacts With RR Players Ahead Of IPL Match
Ahead of their high-octane clash at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on April 22, Mumbai Indians (MI) opener Rohit Sharma was observed engaging with Rajasthan Royals (RR) players in what has become a customary pre-match ritual.
On the eve of the match, players from both teams participated in a joint training session in Jaipur. These practice sessions provide an opportunity for players and support staff to interact and exchange greetings.
This tradition has become commonplace in the IPL before each game. Leading up to the RR-MI rematch, the official Mumbai Indians account released a video with Rohit Sharma at the center of attention.
The video begins with Yashasvi Jaiswal meeting his opening partner in Tests and T20Is, Rohit. After which, Rohit is seen embracing RR's ace off-spinner, Ravichandran Ashwin. The Hitman engages in conversation with Dhruv Jurel before being approached by Jos Buttler, followed by a discussion with Rovman Powell. In the video, MI's former captain appeared cheerful ahead of a crucial away game in Jaipur.
Important game for MI
The table-toppers RR have secured six wins in seven matches. On the other hand, their opponent MI has only managed three victories in their first seven games.
Earlier this season, when these two teams faced off, RR convincingly defeated MI by six wickets at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. In that match, Rohit was dismissed for a duck by his former teammate and RR's pace spearhead, Trent Boult.
However, ever since that game, Rohit has looked like a different batter. He’s enjoying his time playing purely as a batter with no pressure of captaincy. The dashing opener has already scored a hundred this season and he looks hungry for more runs.
