In a heartwarming moment that encapsulated the emotions of triumph and family support, Rajasthan Royals (RR) all-rounder Riyan Parag shared an emotional hug with his mother after clinching the Orange Cap in the Indian Premier League (IPL 2024) season following a hard-fought half-century against Mumbai Indians (MI).

The Royals challenged Mumbai in Wankhede Stadium, and despite a lack of support, RR triumphed in the matchup with sheer brilliance with the ball.

Trent Boult breathed fire with the new ball as MI lost four wickets with mere 20 runs on board. Naturally, the hosts were bundled to a bare minimum score of 125 runs. While RR’s chase started slow, Riyan Parag’s 39 ball 54 runs innings sealed a victory for RR inside 16 overs.

With three consecutive half centuries, Riyan Parag surpassed Virat Kohli in the list of most runs scored in the season to bag the orange cap.

Riyan Parag celebrates orange cap victory with mom

While Riyan Parag and the entire RR squad were jubilant with his heroics, his mom, who marked her presence for the game, waited patiently back in the hotel to celebrate her son’s match-winning knock.

As soon as Parag arrived, she hugged him tightly and showered warm kisses. Not only that, Parag’s mother recovered the orange cap from his kit bag and put it on Riyan’s head by herself. That was a moment of pure happiness that she wanted to enjoy, and Parag obliged with the same.

The wholesome moment was caught on camera and remains popular on the internet.

Indeed, Riyan Parag is finally witnessing his breakout year in IPL after years of hard work and criticism. It’s his time to shine, and the batter is optimizing his opportunities to the fullest.
