Multiple Maldives political leaders perceived the Indian PM's visit to Lakshadweep as a hidden agenda to attract Indian tourists from Maldives. It's important to note that Maldives' economy is heavily dependent on the tourism industry.

However, the Maldives ministers faced severe backlash for their derogatory comments and even faced an immediate suspension. Moreover, in the aftermath of the incident, an exploration of the Indian islands movement kicked off in India, wherein celebrities and influential people from all walks of life took a strong stand in preserving the pride of Indian islands.

Amid the row, a recent video of MS Dhoni praising Indian tourism is going viral on social media. At a particular event, Dhoni was asked to reveal his vacation plans now that he is retired from the sport.

Dhoni reckoned that during his playing days, he couldn't get to explore the cities that he played in because the focus was always on cricket. But now that he is relieved of that duty, Dhoni revealed that he and his wife have made plans to explore the world gradually.

However, MS Dhoni mentioned that he plans to explore Indian tourist destinations first. He added that Indians possess a rich treasure of culture and heavenly destinations that still remain unexplored. Thus, he wants to start from India and then move on abroad for a possible tour.

The video has reached places after a row between India and Maldives broke out. Fans appreciate Dhoni's strong stand for Indian heritage.

Dhoni has never shied away from expressing his deep love for his nation in the past. He still holds the position of lieutenant in the Indian army. Not only that, but he previously expressed his desire to serve in the Indian army post-retirement.
