Ben Stokes and his men are under heavy scrutiny as several videos have gone viral on social media platforms of the squad enjoying themselves in a club in Noosa. Following their defeat in the 2nd Test on December 7, the England Cricket Team was given a 10-day break, after which they were scheduled to play the 3rd Ashes game.
Amid a long break, England travelled to Noosa, the affluent resort town on the Queensland coast, for a four-night stay. However, the players utilized the break by spending time in the club and relying on heavy drinking. Ben Duckett went viral after a clip of him sloshed under the influence of alcohol.
In the latest events, England star Jacob Bethell has also gone viral after a video of him dancing with strange girls in the bar and also vaping. The clip has spread like fire on the internet, and the fans have slammed the cricketers for not focusing on cricket as they were 0-2 down in the Ashes at the time of the incident. Watch, Bethell, dancing with strangers.
England Cricket Board vows to investigate the incident
England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) managing director Rob Key has now broken his silence and remarked that the board will investigate the incident.
"If there’s things where people are saying that our players went out and drank excessively, then of course we’ll be looking into that. I’m not a drinker. Drinking excessive amounts of alcohol for an international cricket team is not something that I’d expect to see at any stage," Key told the media.
Jacob Bethell nearly sent home earlier for drinking
This is not England’s first off-field issue on a particular tour. Earlier, Harry Brook and Jacob Bethell were nearly sent home after being spotted drinking in New Zealand on the eve of an ODI on November 1, 2025.
Jacob Bethell and Harry Brook were seen in a social media clip drinking at a bar in Wellington and given an informal warning by the ECB to two players.
