The Indian cricket team is set to square off with the South African cricket team for a highly anticipated test series next week. The first test of the pivotal two-game series will go on floors next Tuesday at Centurion, South Africa.

Meanwhile, the Indian side arrived at the venue ahead of the boxing day test. Seniors Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Jasprit Bumrah, who gave the white ball leg a miss, marked their presence at India's official practice session held earlier today.

Rohit and Virat sweated in the nets and looked rock solid. The rest of the squad also attended the pivotal practice session just days ahead of the game.

However, in a dramatic turnaround, Centurion's SuperSports stadium witnessed heavy drizzle as thunderstorms struck just moments after the visitors concluded their practice session.

As per visuals captured by One Cricket, the ground is drenched as rain continues to pour in Centurion.

With just a day left until the big test, the rain threat will lead to nervousness amongst the cricketers and fans alike.

Moreover, the weather reports for the boxing day test suggest heavy chances of precipitation throughout the course of days 1 and 2 of the game. The odds of rain currently stand at just over 50%.

However, the rain gods will relent during the remainder of the game. While overcast conditions will loom, the game time is unlikely to be affected. Yet, the first couple of days remain under serious threat.

That being said, the bowlers will tremendously enjoy bowling in such conditions. On the flip side, the conditions are nothing short of a nightmare for the batters. The weather will require them to remain on their toes for the whole course of the red ball battle.

Overall, the boxing day test preview between India and South Africa offers a gripping tale. The early glimpses suggest an elite display of gameplay and competitiveness, which could lead to a thrilling finish.
