Led by Rohit Sharma, India secured a convincing four-wicket victory over England in the first ODI of the three-match series at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur on February 6 (Thursday). Despite the win, the Indian skipper continued to face criticism for his ongoing struggles with the bat across all formats.

India started their final ODI series before the Champions Trophy on a high note by defeating England and taking a 1-0 lead. England, after winning the toss and opting to bat, were bowled out for 247, thanks to three wickets each from Ravindra Jadeja and debutant Harshit Rana.

In response, India chased down the target comfortably with more than 11 overs to spare. Shubman Gill, Shreyas Iyer, and Axar Patel played crucial knocks, scoring half-centuries to guide India to victory. However, Rohit Sharma’s poor form with the bat remained a major concern, as he managed to score only two runs before being dismissed by Saqib Mahmood.

Gambhir-Rohit Caught On Camera Having Intense Conversation

After the match, cameras captured an intense conversation between Rohit Sharma and head coach Gautam Gambhir in the Indian dugout. The expressions on their faces suggested a serious discussion, sparking curiosity among fans and experts. While the exact topic of their conversation remains unknown, it has created a buzz across social media platforms.

Given Rohit’s continuous struggles with the bat, many speculated that the discussion might have revolved around his form and future approach. In his last 16 innings, the Indian skipper has managed to cross double digits only five times, with just one fifty to his name.

During the match, Rohit once again failed to make an impact, getting out for just two runs. He attempted a flick shot off Saqib Mahmood but ended up miscuing it, leading to an easy catch at mid-on. This extended his lean patch, raising concerns ahead of the Champions Trophy.
