Babar Azam continues to win hearts with his off-field gestures. After Pakistan skipper gifted his gloves to a young kid to showcase a heartwarming deed, the cricketer greeted fans in Colombo with fresh surprises following his team’s 59-run triumph over Afghanistan at the venue.

Babar Azam gave away a couple of his caps to his fans in Colombo’s R. Premadasa Stadium. The cricketer treated spectators with his unique gesture after Pakistan romped to a 59-run win against Afghanistan in the third T20I of their three-match series.

Babar is a beloved cricketing figure in Sri Lanka, especially in Colombo, owing to his LPL stint with Colombo Strikers. The legendary batter even once described Sri Lanka as his second home after Pakistan.

In the meantime, Babar Azam’s Pakistan achieved top ODI rankings following their 3-0 series win over Afghanistan.

The ‘Men in Green’ are now gearing up to compete in the upcoming Asia Cup 2023 at home, and in Sri Lanka. Pakistan, clubbed in Group A, will face Nepal in their opening match of the tournament on August 30 in Multan.

They will then return to Sri Lanka to face arch-rivals India on September 2 to conclude their opening round of the competition.

The continental event itself serves as a testing ground for Babar Azam and co. for the impending ODI World Cup 2023 in India.
