Talismanic Indian cricketer Virat Kohli met with Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu during his stay in Dharamsala. Their discussions revolved around cricket, with a special focus on Kohli's remarkable performance in the recent match against New Zealand at the HPCA Cricket Stadium in Dharamsala.

The Chief Minister of the state took the opportunity to congratulate Kohli on his match-winning performance against the Kiwis. Sukhu also extended his best wishes to Team India on behalf of the people of Himachal Pradesh, recognizing their five-match winning streak in the tournament.

India have secured victories in all five of their league-stage matches and is set to face England in their sixth game. The Chief Minister expressed confidence in the team's current form and considered India a strong contender for the World Cup title.

Kohli's visit also included a stop at the Chinmaya Tapovan Ashram in Dharamshala, as the Indian team chose to spend a few days in the city before heading to Lucknow for their upcoming match.

The Rohit Sharma-led Indian team has been on a roll ever since the start of their World Cup campaign. As India chase their World Cup title, Kohli, once again, has emerged as a key player with the bat. And it's not just his batting but his energy on the field that has lifted his teammates many times in the tournament so far.

In India's last World Cup game against New Zealand in Dharamsala, Kohli showcased his exceptional batting skills by scoring 95 runs from 104 balls. His innings included eight fours and two sixes.

While he narrowly missed his 49th ODI century, a milestone that would tie him with the legendary Sachin Tendulkar, Kohli's contribution played a pivotal role in India's victory.

Kohli's performance in this year's World Cup matches has been consistently impressive. India's number three, Kohli, is currently India's highest run-scorer in the tournament, having made 354 runs in five outings at an average of 118, including a century and three fifties.
