Virat Kohli Channels His Inner Ronaldo Ahead Of India-Pak Asia Cup Clash

Batting great Virat Kohli has often expressed his admiration for Portuguese football legend Cristiano Ronaldo. Apparently, the cricketer’s football skills are not meant to be taken lightly either, as evidenced from his recent show at an Asia Cup 2023 training session.

Team India is currently in Sri Lanka for the ongoing Asia Cup 2023. Under Rohit Sharma’s leadership, they are slated to go up against arch-rivals Pakistan in their opening Super Four match on September 10.

A day prior to their high-octane clash, the Indian players gathered at the ground for a training session together. As one can expect, batting great and fitness enthusiast Virat Kohli was also seen toiling hard on the turf in a bid to prepare for the high-flying Pakistani unit.

Notably, Kohli also took this opportunity to show off his untapped soccer potential. A short video featuring the cricketer tossing around a football went viral across social media a day before his clash against Pakistan.

In the meantime, the Indian team are bracing themselves to face Pakistan at the iconic R. Premadasa Stadium on September 10, thus marking their second meeting this tournament.

The two Asian titans went up against each other earlier during the Group Stage, however, rains prevented the entirety of the second half of the match.

Virat Kohli, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma along with the rest of their teammates will subsequently face Asia Cup 2023 co-hosts Sri Lanka and Bangladesh in their race for the finals.

The ongoing continental event forms one of their final dress rehearsals in their preparations for next month’s World Cup 2023 in India.
