Harbhajan Singh has been a character in Indian cricket, who has been as much in discussion for his performances as for his controversies off the field. From Monkeygate vs Australia to Slapgate in IPL, Bhajji's career has seen plenty of such incidents.

Speaking about the slapgate incident, it has once again come to discussion after a recent video has gone viral on social media. Notably, this is a never seen before footage of the incident where, Harbhajan is seen nearly seen punching S Sreesanth.

The video has surfaced on social media and gained massive traction after Lalit Modi, the founder of IPL and the first chairman of the league, released it while participating in Michael Clarke's Beyond 23 cricket podcast on YouTube.

What Was The Slapgate Incident?

For the unversed, the 'slapgate' was a major controversy of the IPL 2008. It involved two national teammates, Harbhajan Singh and S Sreesanth.

Notably, it occurred after the match between the Mumbai Indians and the Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) at Mohali. The Kings emerged victorious in the match convincingly by a margin of 66 runs.

As revealed later by Bhajji and Sreesanth, the off-spinner lost his cool after the game and went on to slap the pacer when he told him 'hard luck'. The frustration of the game and Sreesanth's antics might have provoked Harbhajan, who may have lost his cool. But his action earned him criticism from all parts of media and fans.

Harbhajan Singh's Apology

However, whenever later Harbhajan has always been apologetic and admitted his mistake in the case. Even during a recent podcast with Ravichandran Ashwin, he revealed how sorry he felt when he met Sreesanth's daughter.

Now, coming back to the recent video. It seems to be an angle that the fans have never seen. The incident has alwyas been talked about with no real footage of the acutal occurence available. The fans only remember the image of a crying Sreesanth after the match. This recent clip has created a buzz among fans, as it reveals a new angle showing the actual moment.
