Another Bangladesh international cricketer has got their name caught up in the spot-fixing. Apparently, Bangladesh women's all-rounder Lata Mondal got an offer from her teammate Shohely Akhter Khatun for spot fixing.

As per a Bangladesh news channel Jamuna TV, Mondal - who didn't play the game against Australia at Port Elizabeth, was connected by Akhter Khatun. The all-rounder didn't accept the offer and reported to Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB)'s Anti Corruption Unit.

This is one of the first cases of any kind of fixing reported in women's cricket. However, no damage was done in this particular incident. Still, the Bangladesh board are in decision, on how would they look into the matter.

BCB has not officially commented on the matter, but various sources have stated that the official will go in depth of the whole situation.

Akhter Khatun, who reportedly had approached for spot fixing, isn't part of the Bangladesh team for the T20 World Cup 2023.

Since the allegations have taken place in an ICC event, it is widely expected that the International Cricket Council will have a deeper look into the matter. Interestingly, this is also the first-ever case of fixing that has been reported in a global event.

The Nigar Sultana-led team, after getting beaten by Australia and Sri Lanka, will next battle it out against New Zealand and South Africa in the league stage of the tournament.
