The Asia Cup 2022 will begin from 27th August and the tournament will be played in the T20 format.

India is the most successful side in the history of the tournament, with seven title victories in total, while Sri Lanka holds the second spot with five titles. The tournament will be kicked of by the clash between Sri Lanka and Afghanistan.

5. Sri Lanka vs Bangladesh, Karachi 2008- SL won by 158 runs

In the ninth match of the 2008 edition tournament, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh had a face-off in Karachi. On a placid batting surface, the Lankans tore apart the Bangladeshi bowling line-up with openers Sanath Jayasuriya and Kumar Sangakkara scoring twin tons. 

While Sangakkara scored 121 off 128 deliveries (16 fours and 1 six), Jayasuriya scored a blistering 130 off just 88 deliveries (16 fours and 6 sixes) to help SL reach a total of 332. The bowling unit made short work of Bangladesh's batting line-up, dismissing them for just 174 with Muthiah Muralitharan taking 5 wickets.


4. Pakistan vs Hong Kong, Colombo 2004- Pak won by 173 runs

Fourth on this list is Pakistan's huge victory against Hong Kong in the 2004 edition of the Asia Cup. Batting first, Pakistan reached a huge total of 343/5. Younis Khan top scored with a magnificent 144 off 122 and was ably supported by Shoaib Malik who scored 108 of 110 deliveries. In the second innings, the Pak bowling attack led by Shoaib Malik's 4/18 decimated the Hong Kong batting line-up and dismissed them for just 165, thereby winning the match by 173 runs. 


3. Pakistan vs Bangladesh, Dhaka 1988- Pak won by 173 runs

This fixture between Pakistan and Bangladesh is mainly remembered for Pak's Ijaz Ahmed's whirlwind innings of 124 off just 87 deliveries to decimate Bangladesh's bowling attack. Pakistan made a competitive total of 284 in their 50 over while Bangladesh could only manage 111 in reply.  


2. Pakistan vs Bangladesh, Chattogaram 2000- Pak won by 233 runs

After winning the toss on a flat surface, Pak skipper Moin Khan decided to bat first. fifties from Imran Nazir (80 off 76), Mohammed Yousuf (80 off 110), Inzimam-Ul-Haq (75 off 61) and a quickfire cameo from Shahid Afridi (45 off 29) helped Pakistan get to a huge total of 320-3. 

In reply Bangladesh were tied up by the opponents disciplined bowling and kept losing wickets at regular intervals before they were bowled out for 87, handing Pakistan a huge victory by 233 runs. 


1. India vs Hong Kong, Karachi 2008- India won 256 runs

The record of biggest victory margin in terms of runs belongs to India. It happened in the 2008 edition of the tournament when India played against Hong Kong. Batting first India made full use of the Hong Kong's lesser known bowling attack. While Virendra Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir scored fifties, Suresh Raina and MS Dhoni scored centuries, with the former scoring 101 off just 68 deliveries. India made a mountainous total of 374 which proved to be way too much for Hong Kong, as they were dismissed cheaply, for just 118. India won the match by 256 runs, which is still the biggest victory margin in terms of runs.
