A brilliant 35-ball half-century from Laura Wolvaardt and an amazing spell of leg-spin bowling from Katie Levick (2-10 in 20 deliveries) helped the Northern Superchargers finish their campaign on a high as they beat Southern Brave by 20 runs in Leeds on Wednesday.

Chasing 146, the Southern Brave got off to a disastrous start as they lost both their openers- Smriti Mandhana and Danni Wyatt- for a duck.

Tahlia McGrath also couldn't last long as she perished for a 6-ball 4, leaving Brave reeling at 28/3 after 25 deliveries.

Brave' kept losing wickets at regular intervals thanks to Levick and Alice Davidson Richards, who chipped in with the wickets of a dangerous-looking Sophia Dunkley (38 off 30) and Maia Bouchier (12 off 13).

When Dunkley was dismissed at the score of 64, it looked as if the Southern Brave would struggle to get past the 100-run mark.

However, handy cameos from Amanda Wellington (25 off 10), and Freya Kemp (19 off 19) ensured that they lent some respectability to their eventual total of 125/9.
