The third season of The Hundred is about to get underway in a few days. With both men's and women's competitions starting on August 1, it cannot get better than this for the fans of the 100-ball tournament.

Teams

As many as eight sides will take part in the event, both for men's and women's. Trent Rockets, the defending champions, and Southern Brave will start off the tournament with the other six teams being Birmingham Phoenix, London Spirit, Manchester Originals, Northern Superchargers, Oval Invincibles and Northern Superchargers.

Format

Each team will play against the other seven at least once during the league stage. An extra game has been scheduled for all teams against their respective local rivals, extending the league stage to eight matches each per side.

In what will be a 34-match competition, the top-placed team at the end of the league stage will directly seize the finale spot, while the second and third-ranked sides will feature in an Eliminator.

Final will take place at Lord's, London on August 27.

Indian players

Though no active male cricketers from India will be seen playing in the Hundred 2023, Harmanpreet Kaur, Richa Ghosh, Smriti Mandhana and Jemimah Rodrigues form the Indian contingent to play in the women's version of the tournament.
