Sam Curran's all-round display (60 of 39 & 1-26) and brilliant spell from Sunil Narine (3/11 in 20) has helped the Oval Invincibles Men defeat Northern Superchargers by 3 wickets at the Oval on Thursday (August 11).
Sam Curran was adjudged 'Hero of the Match'
Chasing 158 to win, the Invincibles got off to a disastrous start as they lost their top-3 with just 21 runs on the board, with skipper Jason Roy departing for a silver duck.
However, Jordan Cox (48 off 29) and Curran brought the innings back on track with a 67-run stand in 41 deliveries.
Coz smashed 8 fours in his knock before a mix-up with Sam led to his demise. However, the seam-bowling all-rounder took stock of the situation brilliantly as he laid into the likes of Adil Rashid, David Wiese and Dwayne Bravo to race his way to a match-defining half-century.
He was eventually dismissed by Bravo but the other Curran, Tom, smashed a couple of sixes to ensure that the target was breached with 3 balls to spare.
For the Superchargers, Craig Miles (1-21 in 17) was the most economical of the lot while Bravo the most effective.
