Indian batting maestro Virat Kohli eyes several milestones in the upcoming five-match Test series against Australia. After a humiliating three-nil whitewash against New Zealand on home soil, India are preparing to take on Australia in the high-voltage Border-Gavaskar Trophy Down Under. Ahead of the first Test in Perth, here are some records that Virat Kohli might break during the series.

Kohli Aims To Break Tendulkar's Long-Standing Records

Virat Kohli has been the backbone of India's batting unit across formats. The legendary batter has always brought his best game against the mighty Aussies. Statistically, Kohli is India's second most successful batter after Sachin Tendulkar versus Australia in international cricket. Although the batter has amassed more than 5000 runs against the Aussies, he is still 1504 runs behind Tendulkar, who claims the first position with 6707 runs.

However, Kohli has 16 international tons against Australia and needs five more centuries to go past Tendulkar, who currently holds the record for the most international centuries (20) versus the Aussies.

Furthermore, Kohli has eight hundreds as compared to Tendulkar's tally of eleven tons against Australia in Test cricket. Thus, if he slams four hundreds in the upcoming five-match series, he will register the most number of Test tons against the Aussies, equalling English great Jack Hobbs.

Kohli On The Verge Of Going Past Rahul Dravid

Even if Kohli fails to break Tendulkar's aforementioned record, he can surpass the legendary Rahul Dravid on the list of India's highest run-getters in Tests against Australia. Currently, Kohli has 2042 runs and requires only 125 runs, which he can easily score, to overtake Dravid on the elite list.
