England leg-spinner Rehan Ahmed became the youngest cricketer to bag a 5-wicket haul on Test debut. He achieved the feat during the ongoing third Test against Pakistan in Karachi.

The previous record was held by Australian skipper Pat Cummins, who was aged 18 years and 196 days.

The teenage spinner didn't get a chance in the first two Test matches of the tour but was handed his debut in the dead-rubber. Ahmed grabbed the opportunity with both hands and has taken England on the brink of a famous series win.

He started the carnage in Pakistan's second innings, when Babar Azam and Saud Shakeel were building up a solid partnership. The wily spinner bagged the wicket of Babar when he was playing with a lot of grit on 54.

He followed it up with the wickets of Mohammad Rizwan and Saud Shakeel in quick successions as the tides turned in England's favour.

Ahmed continued his good work on a spinning track and wrapped up the innings with wickets of Mohammad Wasim Jr and Agha Salman as Pakistan were bundled out for a paltry 216, and asking England to chase a mere 167.

Ahmed eventually finished the second innings with figures of 5 for 48.
