Amidst the growing popularity of franchise cricket, Bangladesh's opening batter Tamim Iqbal has extended his support to the One-Day format. There are huge concerns regarding the longevity of 50-over cricket.

A lot of cricket fans and analysts think that T20I and franchise cricket are more bankable. However, Iqbal doesn’t echo the same sentiments. The 33-year-old believes that the One Day Internationals are here to stay.

The veteran also pointed out that ODI World Cup carries more importance as compared to the T20 events. Iqbal has featured in a humongous 228 ODIs scoring 7943 runs at an average of 36.9 and a strike rate of 78.6.
