Rishabh Pant and Yashasvi Jaiswal took to nets for a gruelling training session ahead of Team India’s opening Group A match of the T20 World Cup 2024 against Ireland.

On June 4, i.e., a day prior to the much-awaited contest at New York’s Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, the two cricketers were spotted sweating it out in the nets for a seemingly hectic batting drill.

Rishabh Pant is set to make his return to international cricket through the ongoing 2024 T20 World Cup in the West Indies and the USA. The dashing wicketkeeper-batter was involved in a near fatal car accident back in December 2022, which subsequently prompted him out of action for over 15 months.

While he recently led the Delhi Capitals franchise in IPL 2024, Pant switched into his Team India colors for a nets training session ahead of their T20 World Cup 2024 opening clash against Ireland.

The cricketer was also accompanied by rising star and opening batter Yashasvi Jaiswal. While it remains to be seen if the Indian team management will include Jaiswal in the playing XI, the youngster was spotted hitting his stride for a crucial training session before the all-important game.

A couple of days ago at New York, Rishabh Pant cracked an unbeaten 53 from 32 balls against Bangladesh in India’s lone warm-up match of the T20 World Cup 2024.

Interestingly, Yashasvi Jaiswal did not bat in the game, thus giving rise to speculations about his potential exclusion from India’s playing XI against Ireland.

India’s Group A match against Ireland is scheduled to commence from 8:00 PM IST onwards on June 5.
