In a big boost to the young talent in Mumbai Cricket, the MCA has selected a 17-member squad of U23 players for the England tour. The squad has been revealed by Gaurav Gupta, a Senior Assistant editor at the Times of India on his official X handle.

Suryansh Shedge who recently played for Punjab Kings in IPL 2025 has been named as the captain of the team while Vedant Murkar is the vice-captain. The squad mentioned in the post also consists of players like Angkrish Raghuvanshi and Musheer Khan who have been pretty consistent for Mumbai and also featured for KKR and Punjab Kings in IPL 2025 respectively.

According to the earlier report from Times of India, the U23 Emerging team is likely to play 10 matches in England. Five of those games will be two-day fixtures while the remaining will be one-day matches.

It has also been learnt that Kiran Powar will be the head coach of the Suryansh Shedge-led side while the MCA joint secretary, Deepak Patil and Treasurer Arman Malik will be the team coordinators.

The tour provides a great opportunity for young Mumbai players to test out their skills in English conditions. The major focus would be on the likes of Suryansh Shedge, Musheer Khan and Angkrish Raghuvanshi and they would form the crux of the batting line-up.

However, it is also an opportunity for the other lesser-known cricketers to showcase their talent in tough conditions and take the next step in their cricketing career.
