Suryakumar Yadav and Tabraiz Shamsi see massive surge as ICC updates Men's T20I player rankings

In a remarkable turn of events, Suryakumar Yadav and Tabraiz Shamsi have grabbed the second spot for batters and bowlers, respectively, in the updated ICC Men's T20I player rankings.

Suryakumar has been in prolific touch with the bat in the shortest format this year. After scoring a magnificent century against England in Nottingham last month, the stylish right-hander amused everyone with his scintillating stroke-play in the third T20I against West Indies yesterday.

On the other hand, Shamsi has been rewarded on the back of his recent impressive outings. Notably, the experienced wrist spinner emerged as the best bowler in the England series, grabbing eight wickets, including a fifer, at a phenomenal strike rate of 8.25.

Reeza Hendricks, who slammed three consecutive half-centuries against England, has moved up 16 spots to 15th, while Brandon King (up 29 places to 27th), Jonny Bairstow (up 13 places to 31st) and Rilee Rossouw (joint-37th) have also gained considerably among batters.

Talking about the bowlers, Akeal Hosein (up three places to sixth), Chris Jordan (up one place to 16th), Mitchell Santner (up three places to 17th) and Ish Sodhi (up two places to 19th) have progressed in the updated rankings.
