Sunrisers Cricket interim coach and former England Women's player Laura Marsh has stepped down from her post following the conclusion of the 2022 season. Marsh, who took over from Trevor Griffin in April 2022, joined the club's coaching staff back in 2021 as an assistant coach.

The 35-year-old will join the England Under-19 support staff under head coach Chris Guest for the first-ever U-19 Women's World Cup 2023 scheduled to take place in South Africa in January.

Under Marsh, the Sunrisers failed to win a game in the last edition of the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy and Charlotte Edwards Cup, finishing in the last spot in both tournaments.

In a statement, Sunrisers regional director of women's cricket Danni Warren thanked Marsh for her services to the club and desired to carry out her good work going forward.

"The experience and knowledge that Laura has brought to our group has been hugely instrumental in shaping us as a team. For her to take on the responsibility of head coach at a challenging time was very brave, and a role that she gave her all to,"

The bowling all-rounder featured in 179 international matches, which include England's title-winning 2017 Women's World Cup.

Former Scotland player Andy Tennant has been named as new head coach.
