Hong Kong skipper Nizakat Khan has lauded his players for their efforts in putting up a good show against India in their first game of the Asia Cup 2022.

Team India registered a 40-run win over Hong Kong at the Dubai International Stadium on Wednesday (August 31) in the fourth match of the ongoing Asia Cup 2022

While the Men in Blue clinched the contest in a fairly convincing manner, a number of fans were impressed with the fight of the associate nation.

Suryakumar Yadav's whirlwind knock of 68*in 26 balls provided a massive boost to the Men in Blue in the death overs after a sedate start, helping them reach 192/2 in their 20 overs.

Hong Kong struggled to really get going in their pursuit of a 193-run target. However, their batters played well to post 152 in reply and lost only five wickets in the process.

Coming into the game with label of underdogs, the associate nation impressed one and all with their fighting spirit. Speaking after the defeat, Hong Kong skipper Nizakat Khan stated that despite not getting good facilities back home, his team is getting better with every game.

"Well you know we don't face this type of pace bowlers especially and even spinners as well in Associate cricket. But you know our cricket is also getting better. Back in Hong Kong we lack facilities as well.

"But credit goes to the boys and the mindset is like we have to make sure that these games we enjoy ourselves. And the most important thing is that we take, uh, learning from these games."
