BCCI President Sourav Ganguly on Thursday confirmed that the legendary Jhulan Goswami will end her 2-decade-old international career at Lord's in the 3rd ODI against England on Saturday, September 24.

There have been a lot of speculations in the media and among fans regarding the international future of the legendary Indian seamer as she hasn't made any public statement regarding her retirement.

Jhulan returned to the Indian team for the first time since the ODI World Cup earlier this year, for the ongoing three-match series against England.

The seamer has bowled brilliantly in the two games so far, and following the series-clinching win on Wednesday, skipper Harmanpreet Kaur indicated that Goswami will have her swansong at Lord's.

Ganguly confirmed the same during an event in Kolkata on Thursday.

Here's what the BCCI President said on Jhulan Goswami:

"I am happy for Jhulan Goswami. I am very happy that she has performed very well in the last two matches. The Indian women's team played well and won the match too. I am happy for Jhulan Goswami. I am very happy that she has performed very well in the last two matches. The Indian women's team played well and won the match too,"

"Jhulan Goswami is an absolute legend. She has taken the most wickets in the history of women's cricket. She is from Bengal Chakdah. I have a very cordial relationship with her. I had a lot of discussions with Jhulan Goswami regarding women's cricket development. I had a chat with Smriti Mandhana, and Harmanpreet Kaur as well.

"I am very happy for Jhulan. She is almost 40. She has had a remarkable career. Every sportsman's and sportswoman's life comes to an end. That is what sport is. But what Jhulan will leave is a rich legacy. She is a role model. She is finishing at Lord's. And finishing at Lord's is a dream."

Jhulan Goswami has been the heartbeat of the Indian team for two decades

Born on November 25, 1982 in Nadia, West Bengal, Jhulan Goswami made her international debut against England in January 2002.

Over the course of the next 20 years, Goswami would go on to spearhead the Indian pace attack, while at the same time, inspiring young girls to take up the sport.

Having represented India in 12 Tests, 203 ODIs and 68 T20Is, the legendary Jhulan Goswami has claimed 44, 253, 56 wickets respectively. In addition to this, she has also scored 1228 ODI runs in 120 innings with 1 50+ score.

Goswami is the leading wicket-taker in women's ODI cricket and its fitting that she will call it quits against a side she started her illustrious career two decades ago.
