Sri Lanka Legends will be up against Australia Legends in the 3rd match of the Road Safety World Series (RSWS) 2022, set to be played on Sunday, September 11 at Green Park, Kanpur. 

Australia played just one match in the inaugural season as the COVID-19 pandemic forced them to return to their country and pull out of the remaining tournament. 

Sri Lanka, on the other hand, had an outstanding season as they won five of their six league stage matches and made it to the final, where India Legends outgunned them to claim the title. 

The Australia Legends will be led by veteran all-rounder Shane Watson with the likes of Brad Hodge, Brett Lee, Cameron White, and Ben Dunk holding the impetus for them.  

As for Sri Lanka, the runners-up of 2021 will be skippered by Tillakaratne Dilshan. Nuwan Kulasekara, Sanath Jayasuriya, Upul Tharanga, and Thisara Perera will form the core for the Lanka Legends.

Key Players 

• Tillakaratne Dilshan: He led the team from the front in the last season and emerged as the leading run-scorer in the tournament. In overall eight matches, he amassed 271 runs at an average of 45.61 and strike rate of 136.86.
• Upul Tharanga: He was the second highest run-scorer of the tournament, scoring 237 runs at an average of 118.50 and strike rate of 133.89 in six matches. 
• Shane Watson: The Australian all-rounder will be the key to Australia Legends' success in the ongoing tournament. Along with being an aggressive middle-order batter, Waston is a prolific bowler too, who has got an ability to swing the ball both ways properly.
