Keaton Jennings left disappointed with yet another heartbreak for Lancashire

The story of Lancashire this season has been all about - so near, yet so far. They have been in the running in three competitions, but lost the battle each and every time.

The Red Roses had a heartbreak when they lost the T20 Blast final against Hampshire, they lost the Royal London ODI Cup final against Kent, and received a six-point penalty in the Championship for disciplinary reasons.

In their recent finale outing against Kent, the Lancashire side lost a close-fought battle, and that has left skipper Keaton Jennings disappointed with how things panned out.

"I guess one positive is we gave ourselves a chance to win. We got into two finals and in the Championship we played really good cricket and had we been able to force a result in one or two games, things would have been different.

It's tough to take it. You can look back on every bad moment and be incredibly hard on yourself, but the fact is that the guys have played some really good cricket."

Jennings is also in contention for a place in the England Test side for their tour of Pakistan, but he is not giving a thought about it at the moment.

"I am not particularly wondering right now.  As far as England selection is concerned it's completely out of my hands."
