It has been two days since India's heartbreak at Lord's, but the fans and also the players are finding it hard to move on from the narrow defeat. The Shubman Gill-led side nearly snatched a win out of the jaws of defeat, but a Shoaib Bashir delivery rolled onto the stumps, dislodging a single bail despite Siraj's proper defence.
Siraj stood in shock as he couldn't believe the mode of dismissal, while Ravindra Jadeja had his hands on his head as he knew that the win was in sight. Several visuals circulated on social media where Siraj was inconsolable, and the England players shook hands with the India bowler to show the highest level of sportsmanship.
Siraj Gutted After Lord's Dismissal
Meanwhile, in the latest events, a fresh video has made its way to the internet, which shows the angry side of Siraj after the dismissal. The clip showed Siraj punching the bat in anger after the unfortunate dismissal.
The 31-year-old punched the bat a few times before kneeling on the ground. Eventually, Ben Stokes and the rest of the squad approached the right-arm seamer, who was distraught by what had just happened.
Siraj Opens Up On The Lord's Defeat
Two days after the defeat, Siraj took to social media to express his pain over the result and remarked that a few matches stay close to the heart for a long time, and Lord's was one such game.
"Some matches stay with you, not for the outcome, but for what they teach," tweeted Siraj.
Despite the defeat, the mood within the Indian camp is jolly as the boys have not started preparing for the next challenge, as the caravan now moves to Manchester, where the two teams will square off for the 4th Test at Old Trafford from July 23.
