Mumbai Indians slipped to a seven-wicket defeat against Punjab Kings in their final league match of the IPL 2025 season at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. As a result, the Hardik Pandya-led group is now poised to finish fourth on the IPL 2025 points table ahead of the playoffs.

Amid customary handshakes between players from both sides after the match, fans recently spotted an interesting detail, featuring captain Pandya “intentionally” ignoring his Punjab Kings counterpart and national teammate Shreyas Iyer. 

In a video circulating on social media, the charismatic all-rounder can be seen snubbing Shreyas not once, but twice in the space of a few seconds, sparking rumours of a possible rift between the two superstars of Indian cricket.

After the match, Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya was visibly spotted ignoring his Punjab Kings counterpart Shreyas Iyer a couple of times during a customary handshake between players from both sides. The incident, as captured live on camera, has prompted Indian cricket fans to raise speculations of a possible rift between the two.


Be that as it may, the unforeseen moment between Hardik Pandya and Shreyas Iyer after the match might well be an overnight on part of the former. It is unlikely that the two cricketers are engaged in any form of rift, considering both Shreyas and Hardik were spotted sharing a laugh with each other during the toss time prior to the match.

Both Hardik Pandya and Shreyas Iyer will now be seen leading the Mumbai Indians and Punjab Kings franchises respectively in the impending IPL 2025 playoffs from May 29 onwards.
