Shikhar Dhawan, who was excluded from Team India’s World Cup 2023 squad, seems to be following the tournament as evidenced from his recent social media activity. The cricketer took to X (formerly Twitter) and shared a snippet of Pakistan’s fielding effort against Australia from their final warm-up game in Hyderabad.

The incident in question involves a hilarious fielding blunder from Pakistan players Mohammad Wasim and Mohammad Nawaz, one which even left Shaheen Afridi in smiles.

Shikhar Dhawan trolls Pakistan with hilarious caption

Pakistan, under interim skipper Shadab Khan, took field against Australia in Hyderabad for their final World Cup 2023 warm-up fixture. During the 23rd over of the Australian innings upfront, Marnus Labuschagne flicked Haris Rauf towards his leg side.

Pakistan fielders Mohammad Wasim and Mohammad Nawaz, in their attempt of stopping the ball while approaching it from opposite ends, nearly collided with each other instead. The two fielders soon realized that the ball had eventually hit the ropes to give Labuschagne another boundary in his innings. Witnessing the incident firsthand, even their teammate Shaheen Afridi could not hold back his laughter.

Meanwhile, Indian senior batsman Shikhar Dhawan took to X and shared the clip of the hilarious moment, and mocked Pakistan’s fielding in his caption.

"Pakistan & fielding never-ending love story 🥰😄," he wrote.

While his post incited a laugh riot among fans on the micro-blogging site, it also surprised many to see Shikhar Dhawan’s newfound desire of social media trolling.

Regardless, Australia motored their way to a colossal 300-plus score, with Marnus Labuschagne registering 31-ball 40 from his end. David Warner provided the opening blitz with his 33-ball 48 while Glenn Maxwell anchored the middle overs with his calculated 77.
