In the age of social media, where trends come and go with lightning speed, it's not uncommon for forgotten gems to resurface unexpectedly. Similarly, as the nation celebrates the 154th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, a charming and hilarious Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti wish from over a decade ago by none other than Indian cricketer Ravindra Jadeja has made a surprising comeback on social media.

Ravindra Jadeja’s hilarious 2012 Gandhi Jayanti wish resurfaces

Back in 2012, i.e., during the initial years of Ravindra Jadeja's international career, the cricketer took to X (then Twitter) and celebrated Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti with a hilarious post. The star all-rounder wished the respected leader and expressed his desire to see him daily in his wallet's currency notes.

Ravindra Jadeja tweeted:

“Happy bday to Gandhiji. I pray he keeps coming in my wallet and in ur wallet too.”

Ravindra Jadeja’s hopes and prayers were certainly answered, as he currently stands as one of the highest-paid Indian cricketers. He is placed among the top-bracket (A+) of BCCI’s centrally contracted players alongside Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah.

Jadeja also rakes in the big bucks from CSK for his annual IPL appearances for the franchise.

The all-round legend is currently bounded to represent his national side at the 2023 World Cup at home. He was selected among their 15-player squad last month, and will lead India’s spin attack alongside fellow veteran spinner Ravichandran Ashwin.
