India's Test season is over and it is time for some slam-bang T20 cricket. The squad for India's five-match T20I series against England has been announced and selectors have made some big changes in the Surykumar Yadav-led unit.

The biggest change is the inclusion of Mohammed Shami in the T20I squad for the first time since the 2022 T20 World Cup. He has been out of international cricket since the 2023 World Cup, and has been brought back into the setup ahead of Champions Trophy.

He has replaced Yash Dayal while the other pacers to be dropped from the South Africa series are Vijaykumar Vyshak and Avesh Khan. They have been replaced by Harshit Rana and spin-bowling all-rounder Washington Sundar.

BGT Trio Of Harshit Rana, Sundar And Nitish Reddy Back In T20Is

Both Harshit Rana and Washington Sundar missed out from the series against South Africa due to the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Along with the duo, one of the shining lights of BGT for India, Nitish Kumar Reddy is also back in place of Ramandeep Singh who got his maiden call-up during South Africa series.

There is a change in the second wicketkeeper as well with Dhurv Jurel replacing Jitesh Sharma. Jurel played only one Test in Australia, but is looked as an all-format cricketer for future and has been preferred over Jitesh Sharma who has not been in great form in domestic cricket in recent times.

Rest of the squad remains the same with the batting core remaining intact. India won their last T20I series by 3-1 margin and would be hoping to notch up another win against 2022 T20 World Cup Champions.
