Alex Carey Opts Out of Pakistan Super League 2025
Alex Carey was chosen by Islamabad United as a replacement for South African player Rassie van der Dussen for part of the tournament. However, Carey won’t be able to join the team because he has to play in Australia’s domestic cricket matches at the same time, as quoted by Express Tribune.
With Carey pulling out, Islamabad United is now hoping that Rassie van der Dussen can return soon and take his place.
Before Carey, another big player, former New Zealand captain Kane Williamson, was also reported to miss the start of the PSL. He was picked by Karachi Kings after not getting selected in the IPL 2025 mega-auction.
Islamabad United will begin their PSL 2025 journey today, facing Lahore Qalandars at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
