Ruturaj Gaikwad led India A recently in the two unofficial Tests against Australia A. He did not live upto his billing in that series, but he remains a quality batter and he has now shown that in the match stimulation practice at the WACA where players from India A team and the Indian squad for BGT are honing their skills.

As per the report from RevSportz, Ruturaj Gaikwad smashed four sixes which included two against Ravichandran Ashwin, the senior-most bowler in the Indian side. The newbie Harshit Rana was also punished and he was banged for a six while Gaikwad's India A teammate Manav Suthar was also taken apart with one into the stands.

Ruturaj Gaikwad has recently led quite a few teams. He was the captain of one side in Duleep Trophy, then he led Rest of the India team in the Irani Trophy as well. However, the national call-up as eluded him since the Zimbabwe T20I series. He did well on that tour as well, scoring runs in different positions but is yet to make his debut in Test cricket.

Virat Kohli, Yashasvi Jaiswal And Gill Train Hard Ahead Of BGT Opener

Apart from Ruturaj Gaikwad, the batters from the main Indian team like Virat Kohli, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill also had a good hit in the middle. All three of them batted twice, while Virat Kohli did well in the second outing, Yashasvi Jaiswal displayed good technique against short balls. Shubman Gill struggled in his first outing, but did better during the second stint while on the bowling front, Mukesh Kumar was the most impressive of the lot.

Mukesh Kumar also did well for India A during the two unofficial Test matches, but he is not in the main squad. The first Test between India and Australia is all set to start on 22nd of November at the Optus Stadium in Perth.
