Rohit Sharma's wife Ritika Sajdeh, has reacted to Chennai Super Kings' (CSK) tribute post on the cricketer's captaincy. Notably, Rohit Sharma has been replaced by Hardik Pandya to take over the leadership of the five-time champions on December 15 ahead of the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) season.
The Super Kings posted a video on their social media, showcasing Rohit Sharma's captaincy legacy. The 36-year-old led the Mumbai-based franchise to an unprecedented five IPL titles, tying the record with CSK skipper MS Dhoni, who also achieved five championship victories.
"2013 ➡️ 2023 : A decade of spirited challenge! Much respect, Rohit!," CSK wrote in their Instagram post caption. To which Ritika reacted using a yellow heart emoji.
Mumbai Indians appointed Hardik as captain for the upcoming IPL season. The star all-rounder returned to the Mumbai-based franchise through a historic trade from the Gujarat Titans, where he previously captained and secured the title in the 2022 season. Currently, he is in recovery from an ankle injury sustained during an ICC Cricket World Cup match against Bangladesh.
It has been reported that prior to rejoining Mumbai Indians, Hardik Pandya proposed a condition, expressing his desire to take on the role of captain. Additionally, reports suggest that Rohit Sharma was informed of this development before the World Cup and agreed to play under the star all-rounder in IPL 2024.
