On Tuesday, December 9, the IPL released a list of 359 players who are all set to go under the hammer during IPL 2026 mini-auction. As revealed, 16 capped Indians, 96 capped overseas players, 224 uncapped Indians, and 14 uncapped overseas players have registered for the leagues. 

The fans are curious about the mini-auction, and this article will examine the youngest and oldest players who have registered for it, given Vaibhav Suryavanshi stole the limelight last auction after being picked up at the age of 14. 

Who is the youngest player to register for IPL 2026 mini-auction?

Notably, Afghanistan's Wahidullah Zadran is the youngest player to register for the mini-auction. The 18-year-old was born on 15th November 2007. Talking about his skills, Zadran plays for the Afghanistan U-19 side due to his off-break bowling. 

Talking about his recent heroics, Zadran picked up 11 wickets in four innings during the Afghanistan U-19 series vs Bangladesh U-19. However, he rose to fame during Shpageeza T20 2025, where he picked up six wickets in three innings. 

For the IPL 2026 mini-auction, Zadran has registered himself at a base price of 30 lakhs.

Interestingly, Madhya Pradesh-based cricketer Jalaj Saxena is the oldest player to register for IPL 2026 mini-auction. Saxena, who was born on December 15, 1986, is 38 years old and will turn 39 in just five days. 

The Indian legend needs no introduction. The star all-rounder has represented the Mumbai Indians and the Punjab Kings in the IPL. Further, he is one of the most consistent performers in domestic cricket, but failed to get a cap for India.

For the IPL 2026 mini-auction, Saxena has registered himself at a base price of 40 lakhs.
